BIOGRAPHY —

Portraits of

Artist Anna Tivik lives and creates in Moscow, Russia. Anna was born and raised in a small town in the center of Russia in the family of a teacher and an oil industry worker. Anna has been drawing since childhood and studied at an art school. For several years she worked in the field of graphic and interior design. Anna started creating modern paintings 2 years ago after the birth of a child.

Anna Tivik’s bold, colorful paintings emanate female sensitivity and ability to capture an artistic expression that channels emotions, transposing them into her canvases. Her paintings combine realism and expressionism. Many of her female subjects consisting of can be defined as post-pop style portraits portray raw emotions, power and passion. Her interest and inspiration is found in people, faces and their unique characters. The use of clean lines and bold imagery with a bright color palette in her paintings is contrasted with loose brushstrokes and color spray to uncover the emotions, mood and individuality of each subject.

As the artist states, “Art and painting are my passion, without which I can't live. Only painting gives me energy and optimism. I am inspired by people, emotions and feelings. In my paintings, I show emotions that escape in the next moment. And I want the viewer to feel them too. We are all so different, and I would like to show the most amazing shapes of the soul.”
